I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and the University of Toronto Mississauga's Department of Management and Institute of Management and Innovation. I am also the Academic Associate Director of Training and Knowledge Mobilization at the Climate Positive Energy Initiative, one of the University of Toronto’s Institutional Strategic Initiatives.
I study how companies contribute to and mitigate climate change, and the role of corporate transparency in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. I am also interested in how capital markets price emissions and environmental risks. I use large datasets and surveys to explore these questions. I have a doctorate from Harvard Business School and bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Waterloo. I am a Chartered Professional Accountant in Ontario and have experience working with both public and private sector organizations.
My research has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and the Financial Times. I have presented at over 40 academic and practitioner conferences around the world and am passionate about making my research impactful and accessible to broad audiences.
